OVERVIEW
Our rich, integrated curriculum allows learners to see the natural connections between learning areas. Big concepts are developed each term to enable student centred, inquiry-based opportunities for learning. Within the eight learning areas specified in the NZ Curriculum: English, The Arts, Health and PE, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Studies and Technology, links between learning areas are explored to create authentic, purposeful learning experiences.

LEARNING AT MATUA
We take pride in developing and fostering our students’ talents to be successful in many aspects of their learning through our varied academic, sporting and cultural programmes. The foundation of these programmes is based on the characteristics of The Matua Learner.
While we focus on Numeracy and Literacy, we also believe in developing the whole child and ensuring creativity in our programmes. We are extremely proud of the ongoing achievements of our students.
